Job summary

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • 0–3 years of manufacturing or small part assembly experience.
  • Fine motor dexterity for quality and productivity.
  • Able to read and follow production documents.
  • Ability to read and interpret general business and technical materials.

Responsibilities

  • Assembles parts and components such as handles, blades, gears, or springs into magazines.
  • Positions parts, rivets, bolts, or screws using tools and fixtures.
  • Inspects assemblies for quality and dimensions; tests and calibrates as needed.
  • Identifies nonconforming parts and performs repairs or disposition.
  • Maintains safety and cleanliness; supports 7S and KAIZEN in daily work.
  • Documents quantities and records; communicates with leads during shifts.

Job description

SUMMARY OF POSITIONThe Assembler/Packer is responsible for all aspects of assembly, packing, and Inspection of magazines for firearms. Assembler/Packers will be required to safely and efficiently execute assigned work in a timely manner, meet quality standards, and productivity. Also expected to promote and conform to the company’s regulations and procedures.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Includes, but may not be limited to the followingAssembles parts, such as handles, blades, gears, or springs, to assemble firearm magazines.Positions parts together, following guides such as holes, edges, and prongs.Rivets, bolts, or screws parts together, using a hammer, riveting machine, wrench, or pneumatic screwdriver.Inspects assembled parts for quality and accuracy.Tests, calibrates, and fits parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.Identifies units that fail tests or tolerance levels and repairs as necessary.May drill, ream, or tap holes in parts of pliers, using a drill press.Maintains a high level of safety in and around the assembly area.May use clamps, pneumatic or screw presses, and other work aids to hold parts during assembly.May pack assembled parts, preparing for shipment.Maintains a high level of safety in and around the assembly area.Ensures that all documentation is correct, including quantities and other records.Maintains the Assembly work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.Report defective parts or questionable conditions to the line lead or department supervisor.Maintains knowledge of QC requirements and procedures to ensure proper disposition of nonconforming partsCommunicates with line leads and assemblers at shift change to exchange relevant information that helps prevent mistakes or expedite the assembly processes.Supports all LEAN activities in the assembly area, especially the sustainable execution and implementation of 7S principles (order and cleanliness) and continuous process improvement (stable processes) based on KAIZEN principles to achieve the highest quality standards.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSH.S. diploma or GED0– 3 years of manufacturing experience and/or small part assemblyFine motor dexterity skills are required to maintain quality and productivityBasic problem-solving and organizational skillsStrong interpersonal skills; Conflict resolution skillsWritten and verbal communication skillsAble to multitask, adaptable, and an analytical thinkerAble to utilize Micrometers, gauges, and other hand tools for measuring and inspectingAble to read and follow instructions outlined in production documentsLanguage Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, personnel policies, graphs, and other production documents. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior leaders, departmental managers, and directors.Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, and walk. Employees must be able to stand for long periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, reach overhead, lift, and/or move up to 50 pounds.
