Job summary

Douglas Dynamics, Inc. seeks hardworking assemblers/packers to join our manufacturing team in Michigan. You will perform bench and structural assembly, boxing, and bagging for snowplow and ice-control lines, either on a paced conveyor or non-paced line, and operate packaging equipment and tools.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of lean concepts and continuous improvement principles.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Understanding of product lines and application in field.
• Strong organization and research skills for efficient shop floor operation.
• Ability to track and report daily production figures.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Comfort with basic arithmetic used in production planning and measurement.
• Willingness to adapt schedules to meet production needs.
• Ability to stand, walk, and work in varying temperatures.
• Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Follow job instructions, quality checks, and safety rules to ensure product quality.
• Perform bench and structural assembly, boxing, and bagging of snowplow and ice-control products.
• Assemble in both paced conveyor and non-paced environments.
• Set up and operate assembly and packaging machinery and equipment.
• Move parts using conveyors and material handling tools.
• Maintain safe working conditions and participate in 5‑S practices.
• Meet production plans while controlling costs and waste.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment as needed.
• Report issues to the BU lead or supervisor promptly.
• Participate in training and team-based problem solving.
