Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking individuals to join the Operations team in Coralville, IA. The role is on-site with a 2nd shift schedule (Mon-Fri, 10:30 AM - 6:30 PM). You will perform inventory, follow procedures, and ensure process accuracy while contributing to continuous improvement programs.

Applicants must have a HS diploma or equivalent (or 2 years of relevant experience). Ability to work with SAP and collaborate across functions is needed to meet deadlines and quality

Responsibilities

• Perform machine and/or manual inventory.
• Computer work required; read and follow procedures, routing and other work instructions.
• Take ownership of accuracy of processes and meet internal deadlines.
• Interface with other functional groups to update, inform or resolve production issues.
• Demonstrate initiative to keep processes moving and on schedule; participate in audits.
• Pursue certifications in continuous improvement (ACE) and support cost reduction and waste minimization.

What You Will Do

Technical Tasks:

• Perform machine and/or manual inventory.
• Computer work required.
• Accurately read and follow procedures, routing and other work instructions.
• Take ownership of accuracy of processes.

Customer Focus:

• Meet internal and external customer deadlines as determined by team.
• Comply with applicable elements of quality systems (ACE).

Special Projects:

• Demonstrate initiative to keep processes moving and on schedule.
• Understand and use computer tools such as SAP and accurately follow work instructions.
• Achieve special process certification where applicable.
• Demonstrate a proactive role in problem solving.
• Pursue certifications in continuous improvement (ACE).

Communication:

• Interface with other functional groups to update, inform, acknowledge or resolve problems related to production issues.
• Effectively interact with others.

• Participate in cost reduction plans.
• Participate in waste minimization efforts.
• Participate in audits.

• May be required to be on feet for long periods of time.
• Safety glasses and other safety equipment are required depending on task.
• Must be able to effectively work in an environment requiring repetitive job responsibilities.
• Ability to focus on safety and quality is extremely important.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
• This position is on 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday 10:30 AM - 6:30 PM. Must be willing and able to work 2nd shift.
• Training is typically on 1st shift. Candidates must be willing and able to train on 1st shift for up to 4 weeks.
