Checkpoint Systems, Inc. in Canton, OH is hiring an Assembly Operator to assemble and pack products per BOM or verbal instructions. You will ensure product quality, follow safety rules, and label cartons with your operator number.

The role requires staying at the workstation, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting teammates as needed. Responsibilities include following quality specs for injection molding, reporting issues promptly, and helping maintain production standards.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED.
• Read and follow Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Attention to quality and adherence to safety rules.
• Prolonged standing or sitting may be required.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow Bill of Materials.
• Follow quality specifications for injected molding (no shorts, no flash, no waves, no discoloration, etc.).
• Adhere to safety and manufacturing guidelines.
• Remain at workstation unless relieved by another team member.
• Keep workstation clean and label products with operator number/initials.
• Report quality issues or machinery problems to supervisors.
• Maintain production standards and provide back up coverage as needed.
• Follow directions from Shift Supervisor and Quality Auditor.
• Work to maintain a safe work area and comply with Quality Management System.
• Overtime as required.

Job description

The Assembly Operator assembles and packs products according to Bill of Materials or verbal instructions. Must ensure quality of product being assembled/packed. Responsible for total quality of the job assigned.

Job Duties:

• Read and follow Bill of Materials.


• Follow quality specifications provided by Quality staff and general quality specifications of injection molding (no shorts, no flash, no waves, no discolor, no distortion, etc.).


• Follow and adhere to all safety and manufacturing guidelines and rules.


• Always remain at workstation, unless relieved by another team member. This prevents buildup of product/scrap caused by unattended workstations.


• Must keep workstation clean.


• Keep Supervisors informed of quality issues, press/machinery problems.


• Properly label products they are producing and place their operator number/initials on each carton.


• Keep up with production standards (cycle of products produced).


• Provides back up coverage to other team members for breaks, etc.


• Follow directions given by Shift Supervisor, Quality Auditor and fill-in leader as needed.


• Work to maintain a safe work area.


• Ensure the compliance with the Quality Management System.


• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


• Overtime as required.

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED, preferred.

Experience:

• Previous assembly manufacturing experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Requires manual dexterity skills.


• Attention to detail and able to visually see any product defects.


• Basic math.


• Able to follow work instructions.


• Able to work in a team environment and maintain a positive team attitude.


• Able to read and understand Bill of Materials.


• Follow and adhere to Safety requirements, including wearing PPE as required.


• May require prolongsitting or standing.


• Able to lift up to 30 lbs.


• Lifting and bending to move box of finished products to skid.

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Schedule:
