Job summary

GCC is seeking Assembly Mechanics to join our 100% employee owned team. You will assemble, test and service hydraulic, pneumatic and electro-mechanical components in a high-precision shop environment.

Reading engineering drawings and following BOMs ensures on-time, quality performance. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 3–5 years in manufacturing, and preferred journeyman training, along with forklift experience and Fluid Power Certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Journeyman training or combination of technical education and experience preferred.
• Fluid Power Society Certification preferred.
• Forklift license preferred.
• 3–5 years of manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, test and service mechanical, hydraulic, electro-mechanical/hydraulic or electrical components.
• Read and follow engineering drawings, Bills of Material, and technical specifications.
• Manage workflow to meet customer-required dates.
• Perform general mechanical tasks including welding, torch, grinding, painting.
• Maintain records (assembly routers, quality, dimensional checks, testing).
• Control, store and secure assets (inventory, tools, machinery consumables).
• Fabricate and install high-pressure tubing with standard fittings.
• Maintain shop cleanliness, safety and organization.
• Repair and maintain machinery and equipment such as test stands, saws, and paint booth.
• Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and systems.
• Disassemble machinery and repair or replace broken parts.
• Diagnose malfunctions by dismantling, testing, and analyzing components.
• Read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic schematics/blueprints.
• Adhere to ISO 9001 requirements and support continuous improvement.
