Job summary

Opti Staffing Group in Sherwood, OR is hiring a Mechanical Assembler / Machine Builder to construct brand-new heavy equipment from the ground up. This hands-on role focuses on assembling large fabricated components, fitting parts, and bringing machinery to life from blueprints, using a variety of hand and power tools.

You’ll need 3+ years of hands-on mechanical assembly, the ability to read blueprints, and a proactive, team‑oriented attitude. Own tools required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on mechanical assembly or machine building experience.
• Experience building machinery from the ground up is highly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and assembly instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of how components fit and function.
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and assembly equipment.
• Experience assembling large components or industrial equipment.
• Diesel/heavy equipment experience is a plus but not required.
• Basic hydraulic/electrical knowledge is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assemble brand-new heavy equipment from the ground up using blueprints and drawings.
• Fit parts together and ensure proper alignment and function.
• Operate hand and power tools and assist with crane-assisted assembly as needed.
• Work from blueprints, emphasize quality, and maintain safety standards.
• Collaborate with teammates to complete machinery builds for farming and logging applications.

OPTI STAFFING IS HIRING! Location: Sherwood, OR Pay: $23–27/hr DOE Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm

What You’ll Do:

As a Mechanical Assembler / Machine Builder, you’ll be responsible for building brand-new heavy equipment from the ground up! This is a hands‑on mechanical position focused on assembling large fabricated components, fitting parts together, and bringing machinery to life. We’re looking for someone who enjoys turning individual components into fully functioning machines! You’ll work from blueprints and mechanical drawings, use a variety of hand and power tools, and assist with assembling equipment used in the farming and logging industries. This is NOT primarily a repair or maintenance position! We’re looking for mechanics who have experience building, assembling, and putting machinery together. While some exposure to hydraulics and electrical systems is helpful, extensive knowledge in either area is NOT required!

What You Need:

• 3+ years of hands-on mechanical assembly, machine building, or related mechanical experience
• Experience building machinery or equipment from the ground up is highly preferred!
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and assembly instructions
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of how components fit and function together
• Experience using hand tools, power tools, and mechanical assembly equipment
• Experience assembling large mechanical components, machinery, or industrial equipment
• Diesel mechanic or heavy equipment experience is a PLUS, but not required!
• Basic hydraulic and/or electrical knowledge is helpful, but NOT a dealbreaker!
• Tack welding experience is a plus, but not required
• Overhead crane experience preferred
• Must have your own tools and toolbox
• Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and a positive, team‑oriented attitude!
