Job summary

BluePrint Automation (BPA) in Longmont, CO is seeking an Assembly Manager to lead the assembly of packaging automation equipment on site. You will ensure builds meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and project timelines.

The role supervises assembly technicians, plans workflows, allocates resources, and partners with engineering, production, and service teams to resolve issues, test equipment, and prepare systems for customer acceptance and shipment.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
• Experience leading mechanical or electromechanical assembly teams.
• Strong planning, scheduling, and task prioritization abilities.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or control-related issues.
• Experience applying lean manufacturing, 5S, or similar methodologies.

Role Description

The Assembly Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Longmont, CO, responsible for leading the assembly of BPA’s packaging automation equipment and systems. This role oversees daily assembly operations, including planning workflows, allocating resources, and ensuring machines are built according to engineering specifications, quality standards, and project timelines. The Assembly Manager coordinates with engineering, production, and service teams to resolve technical issues, support equipment testing, and prepare systems for customer acceptance and shipment. The role includes supervising and developing assembly technicians, implementing and improving safety and lean manufacturing practices, and maintaining accurate documentation and reports related to production, quality, and continuous improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in mechanical or electromechanical assembly, including reading and interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and bills of materials.


• Skills in team leadership and supervision, such as coordinating workloads, coaching and training technicians, and managing performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


• Strong organizational and planning abilities, including scheduling, prioritizing tasks, and managing multiple projects while meeting deadlines and quality standards.


• Technical problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, or control-related issues on complex machinery and collaborate with engineering to implement solutions.


• Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement, with experience applying lean manufacturing, 5S, or similar methodologies.


• Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross‑functional teams and interacting with internal stakeholders and, when needed, customers.


• Relevant experience in packaging automation, industrial equipment, robotics, or related manufacturing fields is highly beneficial.


• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience in assembly management will be considered.
