Job summary

SIMPLY STAFFED in Waterloo, IA is seeking an Assembly/Machine Builder to construct custom, made-to-order equipment from drawings and prints. The role requires a solid mechanical aptitude and the ability to read blueprints, with duties spanning from start to finish in a small-volume shop.

You will work with hydraulic components and basic 12V wiring, use wrenches and air tools, and regularly lift up to 75 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School Degree required.
• 1+ years in manufacturing or mechanical work.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Experience with cars or mechanical background is a plus.
• Able to read blueprints.
• Understanding of hydraulic components.
• Basic understanding of 12V wiring.
• Able to use wrenches, air tools, overhead cranes, steel handling and frequent lifting.
• Forklift experience or ability to train on operation.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly and up to 75 pounds.
• Able to stand all day.
• Must read, write, and speak English fluently.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints to assemble machines.
• Build machines from start to finish in a low-volume shop.
• Keep work area clean and organized and follow safety practices.
• Operate hand tools and overhead cranes as required.

Job Summary of the Assembly/Machine Builder: The Assembly/Machine Builder will be responsible for building custom, made-to-order machines per drawing specifications. Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude with experience in building or mechanical repair of industrial/heavy equipment. Be able to work from prints, sketches, or verbal instructions. A strong attention to detail is required. To be safe in all operations of the job. To keep the work area clean and organized. This is a low-volume work environment where you will build a machine from start to finish. This is a first shift position, and pay is commensurate with experience. Subject to a drug screening and background check.

Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Assembly/Machine Builder:

• Must have a High School Degree
• 1+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment or mechanical work experience.
• High mechanical aptitude.
• Any experience working on cars or any type of mechanic background is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints.
