Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of manufacturing or assembly experience, preferred 1 year in a lead or senior assembler role.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read blueprints and work instructions.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to motivate, coach, and lead team members in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, production reporting systems).
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate daily assembly activities to meet production schedules and quality standards.
  • Train, coach, and mentor assembly team members on processes, safety procedures, and equipment operation.
  • Review work orders, drawings, and production schedules to plan and assign work effectively.
  • Inspect completed work for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications.
  • Communicate production issues, delays, or quality concerns to the Production Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Ensure tools, fixtures, and materials are available and maintained in good working order.
  • Promote and enforce AES safety standards, wearing required PPE, and ensuring compliance among team members.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to assembly efficiency, waste reduction, and workflow optimization.
  • Assist with timekeeping, attendance tracking, and reporting production data as required.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area consistent with 5S standards.
  • Perform assembly work as needed to meet production demands.

Position: Assembly Lead

Reports To: Production Supervisor

Location: Advanced Exhaust Solutions (AES) – Lakeville, MN

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Schedule: 6:00am-2:30pm

Location: Lakeville and Northfield, MN. This position may be scheduled to work at either location based on business needs.

Job Summary

The Assembly Lead is responsible for overseeing day-to-day assembly operations to ensure safety, quality, and production goals are met. This position provides leadership and direction to assembly team members, supports continuous improvement efforts, and ensures that all products are assembled according to AES standards and customer specifications. The Assembly Lead serves as the primary point of contact between production staff and supervision, ensuring clear communication, proper workflow, and adherence to company policies.

Key Responsibilities

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and work on concrete floors for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.

  • Tolerance for noise, vibration, and varying temperatures in a manufacturing environment.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing and assembly floor environment.
  • Exposure to moderate noise, fumes, and moving mechanical parts.
  • Proper PPE required, including safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection where applicable.
