Job summary

WeldFit is seeking an Assembly Helper to assist machinists, welders, and operators on the Houston-based production line. The role focuses on assembling mechanical parts per specifications and supporting downstream operations.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and prior experience. English reading/writing skills are required, with Spanish a plus. This is a daytime, full-time position with potential overtime.

Responsibilities

• Assembles mechanical parts and products on downstream production line according to specifications.
• Examines connections for correct fit and fastens subassemblies.
• Reads blueprints, diagrams, drawings, BOMs and instructions to assemble equipment.
• General understanding of valves, flanges, and bolting is helpful.
• Maintains cleanliness and performs tool maintenance and stock replenishment.
• Supports machinists, welders and other operators as per customer orders.

At WeldFit, the position of Assembly Helper is responsible for helping machinists, welders and other operators as per customers order by performing the duties and responsibilities below.

Duties/Expectations

• Assembles mechanical parts, pieces or products using a variety of tools and equipment according to required specifications in our downstream production line


• Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies


• Read, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and other written instructions or procedures to accurately assemble equipment and products


• Have a general understanding of Valves, Flanged, and Bolting


• Responsible for helping machinists, welders and other operators as per customers order


• Responsible for overall cleanliness and maintenance of the building by performing the following duties
  
  
  
  • Obtains various materials for jobs from stock area.
  
  
  • Clean tools at end of each shift
  
  
  
  


• Performs other related duties as assigned.


• Work and think safety at all times


• Must be able to work overtime and weekends with minimum notice


• Must be able to work responsibly and independently with little supervision

• Ability to stand, walk, bend and climb


• Capability of lifting up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis
