Assembly/Harnessing Technician

Reports To: Supervisor, Assembly (CHT) – Onsite, Chatsworth, CA

Overview

We are looking for an Assembly/Harnessing Technician to join our Manufacturing Assembly and Test team, working on first shift in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble high reliability chassis and final assemblies using circuit cards, stand‑offs, wire harnesses, solder and crimping, electrical and mechanical instruments.
  • Perform high reliability soldering and crimping operations on complex sub‑assemblies, electronic and mechanical assemblies; repair circuit boards, jumper wires and wire harnesses.
  • Decipher and work from assembly drawings, worksheets, parts lists, test specifications and other instructions, both written and oral.
  • Follow applicable Electro‑Static Discharge (ESD) procedures.
  • Perform running harnessing and work with motion control pointing mechanisms as required.
  • Collaborate with Product Engineering to diagnose and propose necessary rework on intricate models.
  • Co‑work with engineering to innovate testing procedures and suggest worksheet process changes.
  • Clean components to required cleanliness levels.
  • Maintain traceability records, MDC forms and configuration records on controlled programs.
  • Work on repair units normally run with production units.
  • May be required to travel to customer facilities to service Moog hardware.
Qualifications
  • HS Diploma (or equivalent) required.
  • 5+ years of electrical assembly and soldering experience.
  • Experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., Aerospace, Medical Devices/FDA).
  • J‑STD solder certification required; NASA certification preferred.
  • Ability to work directly from engineering drawings and written instructions.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Additional training from a technical/vocational school is valued.
