L3Harris Technologies in Amityville, NY is seeking an Assembly B to perform mechanical assembly on electro-mechanical assemblies, including hand soldering and sub-assembly work.

You will operate manufacturing equipment, apply adhesives, and inspect quality while maintaining records. This role requires 2nd shift, overtime as needed, and a commitment to safety and precision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with 4 years of relevant experience or 2 years post-secondary/Associates with 0-2 years of related experience.
• Prefer J-STD-001 soldering certification.
• Experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment preferred.
• Mechanically inclined with basic computer navigation skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate manufacturing equipment with proper training.
• Prepare and apply adhesives using a scale.
• Solder wires, terminals, PCB through-hole and surface mount per J-STD-001 & IPC-610.
• Work with small hardware and hand tools.
• Inspect components and subassemblies for defects.
• Check assemblies for conformance to quality standards.
• Maintain assembly and quality records/documentation.
• Communicate statuses to the Assembly Manager.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced production environment.
• Work overtime as needed.

Job Description:

Seeking an individual to provide a wide variety of mechanical assembly operations on electro-mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies. This position requires skilled mechanical hand work and/or the use of automated production equipment. The individual will work with hand soldering components (wires, terminals, PCB through hole and mount).

Essential Functions:

• Operate various types of manufacturing equipment (air drivers/drills, rivet guns, sanders, drill presses, etc.) with proper training.
• Preparation and application of various adhesive materials using a scale.
• Soldering of wires, terminals, splices, PCB through-hole & PCB surface mount components IAW J-STD-001 & IPC-610.
• Work with small hardware components (screws, rivets, washers, nuts) and hand tools.
• Inspect components and subassemblies for obvious defects prior to, during and after assembly.
• Check completed assemblies for conformance with quality standards.
• Maintain assembly & quality records/paperwork as required.
• Will communicate statuses and issues to the Assembly Manager.
• Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, flexible production environment.
• Will need to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications:

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with 0 to 2 years of prior related experience.

Preferred Additional Skills:

• J-STD-001 soldering certification
• Experience in a manufacturing assembly environment
• Mechanically inclined
• Basic computer navigation skills

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in New York (Greater NYC area) is $18.99 MIN - $35.34 MAX.
