This role offers a 1st or 3rd shift, with pay of $17.77 per hour, and requires strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where precision matters.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in manufacturing or cable assembly is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble wire and cable subassemblies per drawings and specifications.
  • Cut, strip, route, and prepare wires using manual and automated tools.
  • Install connectors, terminate cables, and solder as required.
  • Inspect cable lengths and component placement to ensure accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean 5S workspace and complete production records.
  • Follow GDP, GMP, FDA/ISO requirements and company procedures.

Wire & Cable Assembler-1st and 3rd shift

Location: Utica, NY

Schedule: Monday-Friday

  • 1st 6:55am-3:25pm

  • 3rd- 10:40pm-7:10am

Pay: $17.77/hour

Join Our Team

We are seeking a detail-oriented Wire & Cable Assembler to join our manufacturing team supporting the production of high-quality medical devices. In this role, you will be responsible for assembling, preparing, inspecting, and testing wire and cable components while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate has strong manual dexterity, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment where precision and quality are critical.

Key Responsibilities

Assembly Operations

  • Assemble wire and cable subassemblies according to work instructions, drawings, and specifications.

  • Cut, strip, route, and prepare wires and cables using manual and automated equipment.

  • Install connectors, terminals, contacts, and related components.

  • Perform cable termination and hand soldering operations as required.

  • Verify cable lengths, wire orientation, and component placement before processing.

  • Complete precision assembly tasks requiring strong hand skills and attention to detail.

Molding Support

  • Prepare wire and cable assemblies for molding and over molding processes.

  • Load components into molds, fixtures, and tooling according to established procedures.

  • Inspect molded assemblies for defects, cosmetic concerns, flash, voids, and dimensional accuracy.

  • Trim excess materials and perform secondary finishing operations.

  • Maintain product traceability throughout the manufacturing process.

  • Handle medical device components carefully to prevent damage.

Quality Assurance & Inspection

  • Conduct in-process and final product inspections using established acceptance criteria.

  • Measure and verify product specifications using gauges, templates, measuring devices, and visual standards.

  • Identify, document, and segregate nonconforming materials.

  • Accurately complete quality records and production documentation.

  • Communicate quality concerns promptly to supervisors and quality personnel.

  • Participate in corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives.

Equipment & Material Handling

  • Safely operate production equipment, tools, fixtures, and assembly workstations.

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace following 5S standards.

  • Properly handle, store, and identify production materials.

  • Report equipment malfunctions or process abnormalities.

  • Support setup and changeover activities as trained.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and manufacturing procedures.

  • Complete production records accurately and on time.

  • Maintain compliance with FDA, ISO, GMP, and company requirements.

  • Ensure product traceability and identification standards are consistently maintained.

  • Follow all company policies and safety procedures.

Qualifications Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Previous manufacturing, production, assembly, or cable assembly experience preferred.

  • Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and assembly documentation.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining accuracy.

  • Basic math and measurement skills.

  • Ability to identify defects and perform visual inspections.

  • Basic computer skills for documentation and production tracking systems.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in medical device, electronics, cable assembly, or regulated manufacturing environments.

  • Experience with soldering, wire termination, or cable preparation.

  • Knowledge of FDA, GMP, ISO, or quality-regulated manufacturing standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

  • Frequent use of hands and fingers for detailed assembly work.

  • Ability to lift and move materials up to [insert weight requirement].

  • Ability to safely operate production equipment and tools.

Pay Details: $17.77 per hour
