Barnes Aerospace, Ogden Division is seeking a Sheet Metal Fabrication Assembler to join our manufacturing team. You will work in teams of two or three to fit sheet metal parts to assemblies, using fixtures, scribe, and grind to meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities include resistance spot welding pre-assembly before brazing, using hand and power tools, and completing required paperwork. A strong safety and quality mindset is essential, with a high school diploma or GED required.

Qualifications

  • TIG welding experience is required.
  • Ability to work in teams of two or three to accomplish manufacturing goals.
  • Must be able to read and understand written instructions, procedures, and safety rules.
  • Willingness and ability to learn and retain new skills.
  • Compliance with general attendance standards is required.
  • Sheet metal fabrication experience preferred.
  • Experience with brazing, resistance welding, or fusion welding of sheet metal is a plus.

Barnes Aerospace, Ogden Division has an exciting career opportunity for a Sheet Metal Fabrication Assembler to play an integral role in manufacturing operations. The right candidates will work closely in teams of two or three individuals, be self-driven with a safety and quality mind-set.

This position is for 1st or 2nd shift

1st shift6am - 3:30pm

2nd shift3:30pm-1:00am (+15% shift differential)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Work individually and in small teams to fit up sheet metal parts to assemblies using dedicated fixtures, scribe, and grind to fit.
  • Use resistance spot welder to pre-assemble parts prior to applying braze for oven brazing.
  • Use hand tools and power tools, such as hammers, metal forming dies, pliers, tin snips, and various grinders, to bring parts to customer specifications. Use calibrated tools and measuring devices to ensure parts meet customer specifications.
  • Complete required paperwork and checklists.
  • Perform work with a high degree of responsibility with an emphasis on safety and quality.
