Job summary

BARNES is seeking an experienced welder for first shift in Ogden, UT. The role involves welding complex aerospace assemblies, setting up fixtures, and using precision tools to meet strict specifications.

You will print station planning details, maintain 6S standards, and support the assembly line as needed. Requirements include at least 2 years of aerospace welding, TIG (GTAW) experience, and current certification or progress toward certification.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years welding in aerospace.
  • Must have TIG welding experience; certification or in progress.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints and customer specs.
  • Ability to operate welding equipment and finishing tools.
  • Strong safety compliance and 6S mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Weld complex assemblies per station planning and customer specs.
  • Set up weld and tooling fixtures for welding complex assemblies.
  • Use finishing tools and precision measuring equipment to meet specs.
  • Print station planning, record throughput, and complete routers and manufacturing orders.
  • Maintain safety standards and perform 6S tasks daily/weekly.
  • Keep work area clean and safe to pass safety regulations.
  • Assist other department members and support assembly area as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Description
Shift:
  • 9/80 Schedule. Have every other Friday off! 1st shift (6:00am - 3:30pm)
Core Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for welding complex assemblies that meet station planning and customer specifications.
  • Set up of weld fixtures and tooling fixtures to prepare to weld complex assemblies.
  • Will use metal finishing tools, basic hand tools and precise measuring equipment to achieve station planning specifications and finish product, i.e. pneumatic angle grinders, calipers, pie tapes, micrometers etc.
  • Responsible for printing of station planning, recording throughput, completing routers and manufacturing orders accurately and completely.
  • Responsible for maintaining safety standards and daily/weekly 6S assignments.
  • Keep area and surrounding area clean and safe to meet and pass safety regulations.
  • General assist with others in department.
  • Will help assembly area as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of welding in the aerospace industry.
  • TIG welding experience
  • Must have welding certification or be working toward.
  • Ability to understand and follow company and customer specifications.
  • Ability to regulate controls associated with all equipment utilized.
  • Ability to operate Pneumatic hand grinders, basic hand tools, overhead crane, welders, (GTAW), pedestal grinders, resistance welder, vise clamps and drills.
  • Experience with welding all sorts of metal materials
  • Have an in depth knowledge of GTAW and other welding practices and equipment.
  • Ability to follow station planning and read blue prints
  • Knowledge of precision measuring equipment with ability to operate.
  • Interact and communicate in a professional and effective manner with all levels employees.
  • Schedule and organize time and tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work in a challenging and schedule driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to plan and perform difficult work processes.
