Job summary

Myers EPS in Bethlehem, PA is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our Transformer team. The role involves winding transformers using semi-automatic winding equipment, performing electrical testing, connecting coils to terminals, and building up the supporting structure of power transformers in accordance with drawings and work instructions.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Must be able to read 12 inch scales & tape measure; must be able to operate pallet jack.

Responsibilities

• Wrap insulation around coil and secure with adhesive tape.
• Drive fiber wedges between coil and core, using mallet to hold coil around leg of transformer core.
• Crimps leads to magnet (coil) wire.
• Crimps tags to lead wires to conform with wiring diagram.
• Brazes coil leads to specified tanks of terminal strip.
• Fabricates coils and assembles component parts to build electric power, distribution, or specialty transformers according to blueprints and wiring or work instructions.
• Winds copper wire around jig, fixture, or spindle to form primary coil.
• Fabricates secondary coil on copper plate of specified thickness.
• HI pot test transformers and check for continuity.

Myers EPS is searching for a detail-oriented individual to join our Transformer team. This individual will wind transformers using semi-automatic winding equipment and may include electrical testing of transformers. Connect coils to terminals and builds up supporting structure of power transformers, according to applicable drawing requirements and work instructions, by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean and ink stamp part numbers/date code.
• HI pot test transformers and check for continuity.

Education and/or Experience

Less than high school education or high school diploma; or up to three month's related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
