Job summary

Myers EPS in Bethlehem, PA is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our Transformer team. The role involves winding transformers using semi-automatic winding equipment, performing electrical testing, connecting coils to terminals, and building up the supporting structure of power transformers in accordance with drawings and work instructions.

Essential duties include insulating wraps, securing with tape, crimping, brazing, and HI-pot testing transformers, with responsibilities spanning

Qualifications

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Must be able to read 12 inch scales & tape measure; must be able to operate pallet jack.

Responsibilities

Wrap insulation around coil and secure with adhesive tape.
Drive fiber wedges between coil and core, using mallet to hold coil around leg of transformer core.
Crimps leads to magnet (coil) wire.
Crimps tags to lead wires to conform with wiring diagram.
Brazes coil leads to specified tanks of terminal strip.
Fabricates coils and assembles component parts to build electric power, distribution, or specialty transformers according to blueprints and wiring or work instructions.
Winds copper wire around jig, fixture, or spindle to form primary coil.
Fabricates secondary coil on copper plate of specified thickness.
HI pot test transformers and check for continuity.
