Job summary

Myers EPS in Bethlehem, PA is seeking an Electro-mechanical Assembler to join our production team. You will read work orders, assemble parts, and follow detailed instructions to build life-safety equipment used across North America.

The role requires use of hand tools, basic soldering/crimping, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. This is a full-time on-site position with opportunities to cross-train in related departments.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or 6 months to 1 year related experience
  • Ability to use various hand tools

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets work orders and follows work instructions.
  • Positions and aligns parts in fixtures or holding devices.
  • Crimps, screws, rivets, or solders parts to secure assemblies.
  • Mounts components on chassis and connects lead wires as required.
  • Assembles and installs finished components in cases and cabinets.
  • Performs intermediate assembly tasks and trims materials to spec.

Electro-Mechanical Assembler

Full Time Manual Labor Bethlehem, PA, US

Myers EPS is searching for Electro-mechanical assemblers to join our team. We manufacture life-safety equipment that is used in commercial building and public spaces throughout North America. Our inverters are used for emergency lighting. When the power goes out, Myers EPS inverters provide power to existing light fixtures to illuminate the path to safety, ensuring that individuals can safely exit the building.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required by production needs; this may include being temporarily moved to another department or area to help out or cross-train.

  • Reads and interprets work orders, follows sample assemblies, pulls parts for shop floor orders and assembles parts/units to work instructions; or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed.
  • Positions and aligns parts in specified relationship to each other in fixture or other holding device.
  • Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, rivets, solders, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place.
  • Mounts assembled components, such as transformers, resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, on chassis panel.
  • Connects component lead wires to printed circuit or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points.
  • Installs finished assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets.
  • Assembles and attaches hardware, such as caps, clamps, knobs, and switches, to assemblies.
  • Performs intermediate assembly tasks as required.
  • Adjusts or trims materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics.

Education and/or Experience
