Responsibilities

  • Assembles structural sections of aircraft using parts, subassemblies, and components by safely using hand tools and power tools in accordance with blueprints and specifications.
  • Drill holes into structure and subassemblies and attaches brackets, hinges, or clips.
  • Cuts, trims, and files parts to the proper fit.
  • Locates and identifies reference points and holes for installation of parts using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments.
  • Ensures parts are aligned to acceptable tolerances.
  • Inspects and tests installed units, parts, and equipment for fit, form, and function in compliance with standards using appropriate measuring instruments and test equipment.
  • Tends machines, such as arbor presses or riveting machine, to perform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.
  • Provides guidance to bench assemblers when needed.
  • Provides assistance to other production areas as needed.
  • Maintains clean work area, tools, and equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assembles structural sections of aircraft using fabricated parts, subassemblies, and components by safely using hand tools and power tools in accordance with blueprints and specifications.
  • Drill holes into structure and subassemblies and attaches brackets, hinges, or clips.
  • Cuts, trims, and files parts to the proper fit.
