  • Summary:**Assembles structural sections of aircraft using parts,
subassemblies, and components and/or installs functional units, parts or
equipment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Assembles structural sections of aircraft using fabricated parts,
subassemblies, and components by safely using hand tools and power
tools in accordance with blueprints and specifications.
  • Drill holes into structure and subassemblies and attaches brackets,
hinges, or clips.
  • Cuts, trims, and files parts to the proper fit.
  • Locates and identifies reference points and holes for installation
of parts using jigs, templates, and measuring instruments.
  • Ensures parts are aligned to acceptable tolerances.
  • Inspects and tests installed units, parts, and equipment for fit,
form, and function in compliance with standards using appropriate
measuring instruments and test equipment.
  • Tends machines, such as arbor presses or riveting machine, to
perform force fitting or fastening operations on assembly line.
Nonessential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provides guidance to bench assemblers when needed.
  • Provides assistance to other production areas as needed.
  • Maintains clean work area, tools, and equipment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to safely and properly use gauges, calipers, and other tools
and equipment.
  • Ability to identify proper materials and supplies according to
specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Exhibits dependability, including following instructions; responding
to supervisors direction; and taking responsibility for own actions.
  • Ability to take initiative, including asking for and offering help
when needed; performs work independently without being prompted
