Job summary

Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems seeks floor-level technicians to support assembly teams in a fast-paced, lean manufacturing environment in Florida. You will use SAP to manage material, WIP, and completed assemblies, while maintaining accurate status reports and communicating issues to the IPT.

You will implement Kanban and other lean techniques to optimize material flow, perform varied assembly tasks from diagrams, and participate in quality inspections and testing of subassemblies.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of direct experience
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Proficient computer skills
• Proficient working with hand tools
• Must have good manual dexterity
• Ability to assemble wire/cable assemblies by following work process instructions and blueprint diagrams

Responsibilities

• Provide floor support to assembly personnel to promote Just-In-Time lean manufacturing
• Utilize SAP and other computer systems to manage material, work orders, WIP and completed assemblies
• Maintain production status and report issues affecting schedule to leads and IPT
• Ensure accuracy of Work-In-Process and floor stock inventory
• Implement Kanbans and lean systems to improve material flow
• Perform repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic/mechanical assemblies
• Read diagrams/drawings, lay out work, and use hand/power tools, jigs, and saws
• Conduct quality inspections and continuity checks on processes
• Disassemble/rework/test prototype assemblies as needed

THE WORK

• Provide floor support to all assembly personnel to create an environment of Just-In-Time lean manufacturing.
• Utilize SAP and other computer systems to manage material, work orders, Work-In-Process and completed assemblies.
• Maintain accurate production status by updating production status reports for assigned programs and communicating issues affecting schedule and production to supervisor, product manager, engineering, and other members of the Integrated Product Team.
• Ensure and sustain accuracy of Work-In-Process and factory and floor stock inventory.
• Implement Kanbans, Just-In-Time inventory, pull-lines or other unique systems associated with material management to enhance manufacturing flow. Utilize and implement Lean principles to ensure effective material and product flow.
• Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.
• Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws.
• Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed. May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
• May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $35600.00 - $66000.00

• Annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs may be offered depending on the position. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and can vary from year to year and are tied to a range of performance metrics.
• For (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
