Lockheed Martin in New York State is seeking a skilled technician to manufacture, assemble and refurbish aircraft parts per blueprints and specifications. You will align components on jigs, drill close-tolerance holes, and perform precise fitting, filing, and rework as needed.
The role requires hands-on aviation/manufacturing experience, proficiency with hand tools and precision instruments, and a strong focus on quality, safety, and timely delivery.
Performs a variety of operations to manufacture, assemble and/or refurbish various aircraft parts and structures. Assemblies can require controlled tooling as well as build to print. Tasks include aligning parts on jigs using both templates and fixtures. Drill close tolerance holes. Performs part-fitting operations such as minor filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, drilling, reaming, riveting, countersinking, and cold working. Measures parts with a variety of methods to verify dimensions. May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes and perform repairs. Works from blueprint diagrams, drawings, specifications, and shop orders. Monitors and verifies quality and develops corrective action. Performs corrosion inspection and repair per engineering requirements. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or manager as directed. 3 years or more of demonstrated hands on experience in aviation, manufacturing, and/or assembly.
Pay rate for this position is $22.64 - $37.74 per hour.
