Job summary

AMETEK Inc. is seeking a production/assembly technician to support aerospace PCB and electronic box builds under the Manager of Operations. The role covers soldering, inspection, packaging and training, with a focus on quality and efficiency.

Responsibilities include SMT/PTH soldering, wave soldering, conformal coating, testing, and assembling mechanical subassemblies. Overtime may be required; safety and professionalism are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of experience in Production/Manufacturing preferred, knowledge of aircraft instruments or electronics is a plus.
• Willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-making, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, solder, inspect, package and train; contribute to process improvements.
• Perform SMT and/or PTH soldering of printed circuit boards; rework and touch-up as needed.
• Operate PCB equipment such as wave solderer, CS-400, pinning machine and solder fountain.
• Support conformal coat processes, module cleaning, potting and testing.
• Learn and use bench top equipment, test gear, hand tools and computers.
• Assemble small mechanical subassemblies and electro/electro-mechanical products.
• Attend meetings to determine work priorities and ensure quality and productivity.

Job description

Assemble Printed Circuit Board/Electronic Box Build for aerospace products under the leadership of the Manager of Operations.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work will include but not limited to: assembly, soldering, inspection, packaging, process improvements and training as well as other related activities.
• Ability to perform SMT and/or PTH soldering of Printed Circuit Boards. Experienced in SMT and PTH rework and touch-up of PCB. Need skills in component bond, component assembly and hardware assembly.
• Ability to operate machinery utilized in the PCB area such as the Wave solderer, CS-400, pinning machine and solder fountain.
• Ability to perform duties of the conformal coat processes.
• Ability to perform duties in module cleaning, potting and testing.
• Ability to learn the use of bench top equipment, test equipment, hands tools and computers.
• Ability to assemble small mechanical products – springs, gears, mechanical subassemblies.
• Ability to assembly and test electro and electro-mechanical products.
• Participate in meetings to determine work priorities.
• Commitment to customer and business focus in areas such as quality of work, attendance and productivity. Overtime may be required.
• Adherence to company policies such as safety, respect for others, integrity and workplace rules.
• Willingness to attend additional training, either OJT or off-site training recommended by the management staff to further personal development.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Two (2) years prior experience in Production and/or Manufacturing. Experience in the Manufacturing of Aircraft Instruments or Electronics desired
• Demonstrated ability and willingness to use AI tools to improve productivity, decision-marking, work quality, and to reduce costs. The successful candidate must be able to identify appropriate AI use cases and critically evaluate AI-generated outputs
