Job summary

Fenner Precision Polymers in Wilmington, NC seeks Level 1/2 Operators to run hydraulic and pneumatic machinery and support production goals. The role involves reading part drawings, assisting setup, recording data, and contributing to quality inspections per the Control Plan.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machinery to achieve production rates.
  • Assist setup of work stations.
  • Read drawings, bills of material, tolerances, routings, and work instructions.
  • Maintain accurate records (labor entry, inspection data, part counts).
  • Assist with quality inspections per the Control Plan.
  • Assist in material handling and equipment maintenance.
  • Follow safety policies and report unsafe conditions.
  • Work effectively in a team and serve customers internal/external.
  • Contribute to quality system and waste-reducing activities.
  • Related duties as assigned.

Job description

Principal Accountabilities:

Level 1 Operator:
  • Operate machinery (hydraulic, pneumatic, etc) in the given work area to successfully achieve production rates.
  • Assist in the setup of work stations to produce product.
  • Able to read features from part drawings (bills of material, dimension tolerance. etc.) routings, work instructions, job packets and other forms.
  • Keep accurate work records such as labor entry, inspection data, part counts, etc.
  • Assist with performing quality inspections as directed by the Control Plan (to include the use of precision measuring equipment as well as visual inspection of product), properly identify and secure non-conforming product, and perform rework as needed.
  • Assist in performing material handling and general equipment maintenance and cleaning as needed.
  • Follow safety polices and report all unsafe conditions.
  • Must work effectively in a team environment (interaction with others in a positive manner, effective communication skills, actively working to resolve conflicts in a productive win/win manner) with a focus on servicing their customers both internal and external.
  • Follows all applicable policies, procedures, work instructions and documentation requirements.
  • Contribute to our quality system through continuous improvement and with involvement in waste eliminating activities.
  • Related duties as assigned.
  • Maintain and Promote Fenner Precision Polymers Values and Behaviors at all times.
Level 2 Operator:
  • Proficiently performs all essential tasks of a level 1 operator.
  • Set up machinery (hydraulic, pneumatic, etc.) making necessary adjustments as needed.
  • Perform quality inspections as directed by the Control Plan (to include the use of precision measuring equipment as well as visual inspection of product).
  • Able to train level 1 operators.

  • Learn and follow EHS policies, rules and work instructions
  • Attend required EHS training
  • Wear the required PPE at all times
  • Take personal responsibility for keeping yourself and your co-workers and visitors free from injury by participating in and/or conducting risk assessments, work place inspections, corrective actions and safety observations
  • Report incidents, near miss, unsafe conditions, unsafe acts and other hazards in the work place. STOP WORK when imminent danger is present
  • Maintain work area in a neat and orderly fashion and keep equipment in proper working condition.
