Key Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of products across spiral loom machines to produce high‑quality wire belting products at the required production rate.
- Inspect quality of various types and sizes of wire belts to meet customer requirements.
- Maintain quality standards by monitoring product appearance and specifications.
- Use calipers and other measuring tools to ensure specifications are met.
- Perform required quality checks, record information on the work order, and adjust equipment as needed.
- Follow work instructions and report quality problems to engineering and supervision.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform common machine setups and diagnose/build products using work orders with limited supervision.
- Execute additional tasks of equal or lesser grade as required.
- Promote Fenner Precision Polymers values and behaviors at all times.
Level 1 Operator
- Satisfy all responsibilities in the Key Responsibilities section.
- Operate spiral loom machines and produce quality wire belting products.
- Inspect quality and perform quality checks as described above.
- Use measuring tools and perform math with fractions, decimals, and addition/multiplication.
- Complete common setups across spiral loom machines.
Level 2 Operator
- Complete all Level 1 Operator responsibilities.
- Master a large variety of setups across spiral loom machines.
- Diagnose and solve technical problems impacting product quality with limited supervision.
- Perform work orders with no supervision.
- Adapt to daily responsibilities and support as needed.
- Proactively propose ideas for continuous improvement.
Level 3 Operator
- Complete all Level 1 and Level 2 responsibilities.
- Master all setups across all spiral loom machines in the shop.
- Employ advanced troubleshooting techniques across all products and machines.
- Train others and support teammates with difficulties.
- Lead by example with flexibility and a positive attitude.
- Provide leadership in continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, or one to three months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Environmental, Health & Safety Expectations
- Learn and follow EHS policies, rules, and work instructions.
- Attend required EHS training.
- Wear required PPE at all times.
- Take personal responsibility for safety, including risk assessments, workplace inspections, and corrective actions.
- Report incidents, near misses, unsafe conditions, and hazards. Stop work when imminent danger is present.
- Maintain a neat and orderly work area and keep equipment in proper working condition.
Finisher Role Includes
Welder General Skills
- Promote Fenner Precision Polymers values and behaviors.
- Follow all safety procedures, including lifting techniques and limits.
- Understand welding processes between left and right hand and setup of equipment.
- Cuts, fits, and welds metal using gas and electric welding equipment.
- Utilize saws, torches, plasma cutter, grinders, and drills safely.
- Perform skilled welding on a variety of metals, including heavy gauge steel.
- Execute mid and TIG welding types.
- Perform simple machining tasks.
Finisher I
- Perform all general welder responsibilities.
- Clean and prepare surfaces for welding.
- Weld metal parts according to specifications.
- Complete visual quality assessments.
- Cut mesh and punch holes as required.
Finisher II
- Perform all Finisher I responsibilities.
- Complete at least 50% of chain jobs.
- Weld small specifications.
- Complete a filter belt manufacturing order.
