Job summary

Mid-Continent Instruments and Avionics is seeking an Assembler in Wichita, KS to build from components to high-quality finished products. You will conduct final testing on aviation instruments and avionics for customers worldwide, requiring a strong emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.

The role demands hands-on use of hand tools and testing equipment, a background in electronics, and the ability to read assembly drawings and schematics.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Two-year electronics degree or equivalent education, training, and work experience required.
  • At least 1 year of assembly experience with avionic equipment such as pressure gauges, batteries, and inverters is required.
  • Adept at using hand tools and electronic testing equipment.
  • Solid understanding of advanced analog and digital electronics.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble from component level to finished product.
  • Conduct final testing on aircraft instruments and avionics.
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings and schematics, procedures and manuals.
  • Complete documentation such as shop and manufacturing order records and submit required reports.

Salary Range: $17.00 To $22.00 Hourly

As an Assembler , you will provide assembly from the individual component level to a high-quality finished product. You'll conduct final testing on a variety of aircraft instruments and avionics for the best customers from all over the world - from general, business, and commercial aviation. We have high manufacturing standards to achieve perfect function, providing the customer with innovative, reliable, quality products. To be successful in this role, you'll need great aptitude for fine, detailed mechanical work and to really understand the value of accuracy. You'll be an important part of the process that keeps our customers flying!

  • You have a high school diploma or GED.
  • You have a minimum two-year electronics degree or equivalent education, training, and work experience.
  • You have a minimum one year of experience in assembly with several types of avionic equipment such as pressure gauges, batteries, and inverters.
  • You are adept at utilizing hand tools and electronic testing equipment.
  • You have a demonstrated understanding of advanced analog and digital electronics.
  • You have strong attention to detail.
  • You are organized, focused and results oriented.
  • You are a problem-solver with critical thinking and prioritizing skills.
  • You have good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
WE WOULD REALLY LIKE IT IF... (but it's not a deal breaker)
  • You are proficient with PCB soldering, but if not, we'll provide training!
  • Good eye-hand coordination.
  • Occasional lift and carry independently up to 50 lbs.
  • Constant handle, feel and manipulation of small objects.
  • Use of small tools such as screwdrivers, tweezers, and wire cutters.
  • Perform assembly of highly technical electronic components, parts, equipment, and systems to include de-soldering, troubleshooting, and component replacement
  • Conduct final testing on a variety of electronic instruments
  • Complete documentation such as shop, and manufacturing order records and submit required reports
  • Read and interpret assembly drawings and schematics, procedures, and technical manuals
