Job summary

IPG Photonics in Marlborough, MA, is seeking an Electronics Assembler to build electronic and optical/fiber assemblies for lasers. You will read blueprints, perform in-process quality checks, and test and measure components in a controlled manufacturing area.

Shift times are 5am-1:30pm or 6am-2:30pm. Applicants should have a High-School education in Electronics and training in electronics, optics, or fiber, with experience assembling at the component level.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting blueprints or schematics.
• Performing in-process quality checks during manufacturing.
• Reading and documenting data during production.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Basic setup and troubleshooting of production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Build electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies for lasers.
• Build optical and fiber assemblies.
• Read blueprints or schematics.
• Perform in-process quality checks.
• Test and measurement of assemblies.
• Maintain cleanliness of work and common areas.
• Cross-train in production process or area as assigned by Supervisor.
• Meet assigned production metrics as defined by Supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
• Perform basic setup and troubleshooting of equipment.
• Train other assemblers as assigned.
• Wear cleanroom attire in controlled manufacturing areas.
• Experience with Navision or similar ERP systems.
• Understand inventory processes and material handling.

• Wear appropriate cleanroom attire, work in a controlled manufacturing area requiring coats, hair and beard nets, gloves, and booties.
• Experience with Navision or similar ERP systems.
• Understanding of inventory processes and material handling.

• High-School education in Electronics

• Electronics, optics, fiber or component level assembly
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and schematics
• Data entry skills
• Regular and reliable attendance and the ability to work overtime are essential functions of this job
