Job summary

IPG Photonics in Marlborough, MA is seeking a shop-floor assembler to join a team manufacturing laser components. You will build electronic and optical assemblies, read blueprints and schematics, and perform in-process quality checks while maintaining cleanroom standards.

Responsibilities:

• Build electronic assemblies and sub-assemblies for lasers
• Build optical and fiber assemblies
• Reading blueprints or schematics
• Performs in-process quality checks
• Test and measurement
• Maintain cleanliness of work and common areas.
• Crosstrain in production process or area as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Meet assigned production metrics as defined by the Supervisor.
• Perform any and all other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
• Perform basic setup, and troubleshooting of equipment as needed.
• Train other assemblers as assigned
• Wear appropriate cleanroom attire, work in a controlled manufacturing area requiring coats, hair and beard nets, gloves, and booties.
• Experience with Navision or similar ERP systems.
• Understanding of inventory processes and material handling.

• High-School education in Electronics
• Electronics, optics or fiber training and understanding
• Electronics, optics, fiber or component level assembly
• Ability to read and follow written instructions and schematics
• Data entry skills
• Regular and reliable attendance and the ability to work overtime are essential functions of this job
• Work hours: 5am-1:30pm or 6am-2:30pm
