Job summary

Alfa Laval Mid Europe GmbH in the Richmond, Virginia area is seeking a production associate for the afternoon shift. You will assemble components and use hand and power tools to build finished products following SOPs and blueprints in a fast-paced environment.

Adherence to PPE, reporting deviations, and participating in daily status meetings are required. You will contribute to 5S and Kaizen improvements while collaborating with teammates to maximize value and minimize waste.

Qualifications

• Accurate use of PPE (safety glasses, steel toe shoes, gloves) as required.
• Follow SOPs and blueprints to assemble products.
• Identify deviations and report to leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement (KAIZEN) and 5S activities.
• Collaborate with teams to complete tasks efficiently.

Key duties include using hand/power tools, performing quality checks, documenting processes, maintaining a clean workspace, and collaborating with teams, often involving repetitive tasks.Your shift schedule will be Monday through Friday, 2:00PM – 10:30PM, overtime as needed including weekends.Salary - 23.50 Hourly + shift .75 stipendBRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITIONAccurate & Consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (Safety Glasses, Steel Toe Shoes, Gloves, Uniform others as required by the specific process)Receive daily work assignments from the Team Leader / Team Manager and execute production with Standard Operating Procedures and blueprints as a base.Report any deviations (Safety, Quality, Parts, Equipment, etc.) to Status Boards immediately and update the Team Leader / Team Manager.Be active and engaged into the Daily Status Board Meetings by explaining the deviations and propose solutions.Review & suggest any improvements for the Standard Operating Procedures.Look into your own areas for waste (time, motion, transportation, inventories etc.) elimination opportunities and drive KAIZEN improvements.Engaged in daily & weekly 5S routines to achieve high 5S Standard and Sustain it.Constantly look for the cross-training opportunities within different manufacturing processes & better ways to add value.Use the downtime efficiently to learn the new processes & run improvements from the status board activities.As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth.
