Job summary

Generac in Oshkosh, WI is seeking an Assembler I to perform cost-effective, timely assembly while meeting quality standards. You will validate materials, follow work instructions, build to specifications, and maintain cleanliness and PPE compliance.

Qualifications

  • Uses work instructions drawings, schematics, and assembly equipment to perform assembly following safety and quality standards.
  • Cross trains in multiple assembly areas and flex to other departments as needed.
  • Develops and maintains product understanding and how it impacts the business.
  • Continuously learns principles and processes as changes occur.
  • Participates in team meetings to share information and improve processes.
  • Resolves problems with peer or supervisor guidance based on complexity.
  • Provides basic training on work instructions as needed.

Job description

Shift Hours - 3:00pm-11:00pm Monday - Friday

Overtime Hours 3:00pm -1:00am - Every other Saturday, if required.

Pay Rate: $22.60/hour + $2.50 shift premium = $25.10

Job Summary

Assembler I is responsible for performing assembly work to manufacture products in a cost effective and timely manner while fulfilling quality standards. The Assembler I will validate material prior to beginning assembly, review work instructions, build product per specifications and within tolerances, complete all clean-up and housekeeping procedures, comply with all quality, safety and work rules and regulations including wearing all appropriate PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Uses work instructions drawings, schematics, electronic assembly equipment to perform assembly while complying with safe and effective operation standards of all equipment and tools.
  • Cross trains in multiple assembly areas and flex to other similar departments based on business needs.
  • Develop and maintain an understanding of the products they assemble and how they impact the business.
  • Continuous learning of the principles, practices, and processes of their job as changes require and similar jobs.
  • Participate in team meetings to exchange job related information.
  • Resolve problems with assistance from peers or supervisors depending on the level and complexity.
  • Provide basic training to employees on work instructions/standard work as needed.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform highly repetitive assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment.
  • Detail oriented and organized.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a team environment.
  • Accepts responsibility for own actions, follows through on commitments.
  • Ability to understand and execute basic standard assembly procedures, interpret basic visual diagrams, and use basic hand tools.
  • Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math functions.
  • Ability to perform highly repetitive assembly tasks in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to act safely while following establish procedures, processes and policies.
  • Manufacturing or mechanical experience, including knowledge of manufacturing processes.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
