Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking an Assembler I to join the production team in South Chesterfield, VA. You will assemble components into subassemblies and finished units, adhering to traveler/standard work instructions while maintaining quality.

The role requires basic reading/writing, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and the stamina to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods. You will inspect parts with gauges and calipers, perform end-of-line checks, and communicate any deviations to supervisors.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1–2 years of production assembly experience preferred.
  • Basic reading and writing skills required.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand/walk/sit for long periods.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble or produce component parts into subassemblies, assemblies, or completed units following instructions.
  • Inspect parts or completed units using gauges, tape measures, fixtures, calipers, and other inspection tools.
  • Perform end-of-line product checks and/or repairs.
  • Notify leads or supervisors of deviations to ensure specifications.
  • Assist assembly groups with problem solving.
  • Recommend in-line checks to increase first-pass yield.

Location: South Chesterfield, VA

What we’re looking for

We are looking for an Assembler I who will be responsible for working cooperatively as part of a production team to manufacture and assemble high quality Glass, Doors, Frames and Subcomponents.

What you’ll be responsible for in this role
  • Responsible for the assembly or production of component parts into completed subassemblies, assemblies or completed units adhering to the assembly traveler/standard work instructions.
  • Inspects parts or completed units by using visual inspection, gages, tape measures, check fixtures, calipers, or other inspection equipment.
  • Perform end of line product checks and/or repairs.
  • Notifies / communicates with assemblers, leads, and supervisors or upstream changes to ensure products are to specification.
  • Assist assembly groups with problem solving.
  • Makes recommendations for in-line and subsequent checks to increase first pass yield.
What are the basic qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 1-2 years of production assembly work.
