Job summary

Alfa Laval invites applicants to join our assembly team to support gasket plate heat exchanger production. You will assemble products per diagrams and blueprints, perform quality checks, document processes and participate in daily status updates with the team.

Responsibilities include following SOPs, reporting deviations, and collaborating with cross-functional teams while contributing to waste-reduction initiatives and 5S practices.

• Receive daily work assignments from Team Leader/Manager and execute production per SOPs and blueprints.
• Report deviations to Status Boards and update Team Leader/Manager.
• Participate in Daily Status Board meetings, explain deviations, propose solutions.
• Review and suggest improvements for Standard Operating Procedures.
• Identify waste and drive KAIZEN improvements (time, motion, transport, inventories).
• Engage in daily/weekly 5S routines to sustain high 5S standards.
• Pursue cross-training opportunities across manufacturing processes to add value.
• Teamwork: Collaborate with assemblers, communicate effectively, and rotate tasks.

About the job

As an integral member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in the assembly of our gasket plate heat exchanger you will assemble products or components using tools and instructions (diagrams, blueprints)Key duties include performing quality checks, documenting processes, maintaining a clean workspace, and collaborating with teams, often involving repetitive tasks. This is important part of contributing to the overall success and growth of our organization.

As a part of the team, you will:

• Quality Control: Inspect work for defects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to quality standards.
• Documentation: Complete production forms, reports, and record assembly data.
• Receive daily work assignments from the Team Leader / Team Manager and execute production with Standard Operating Procedures and blueprints as a base.
• Report any deviations (Safety, Quality, Parts, Equipment, etc.) to Status Boards immediately and update the Team Leader / Team Manager.
• Be active and engaged into the Daily Status Board Meetings by explaining the deviations and propose solutions.
• Review & suggest any improvements for the Standard Operating Procedures.
• Look into your own areas for waste (time, motion, transportation, inventories etc.) elimination opportunities and drive KAIZEN improvements.
• Engaged in daily & weekly 5S routines to achieve high 5S Standard and Sustain it.
• Constantly look for the cross-training opportunities within different manufacturing processes & better ways to add value.
• Teamwork: Work with other assemblers, communicate effectively, and rotate tasks if part of a team.
• Use the downtime efficiently to learn the new processes & run improvements from the status board activities.
• Lift raw materials, finished products, and packed items, manually or using lifts.

The current hourly rate for this position starts at 20.00 hourly with a $1.00 shift differential.
