Job summary

G&W Electric is seeking a Production Inspector to perform final inspections on switches and orders, train staff, and generate reports on findings. The role includes entering NCRs, writing CIIs, and ensuring ISO compliance across production lines.

You will collaborate with product and manufacturing engineering to implement control charts and maintain a safe, efficient workspace. You should have a High School diploma or GED with 1–3 years in manufacturing, reading drawings, and ERP/MS Office

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED, or combination of work experience and skill development.
  • 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, BOMs, wiring and ladder diagrams.
  • Basic computer skills in MS Word and Excel.
  • ERP system experience desirable.
  • Ability to utilize measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers, Fluke multimeter.

Responsibilities

  • Perform final inspection tasks on all switches and part orders being shipped.
  • Train production personnel in effective methods to control processes.
  • Prepare reports for all findings.
  • Authority to shut down non-conforming processes after notifying Supervisor.
  • Prepare and enter NCRs (Non Conformance Reports).
  • Write Customer Improvement Initiative (CII) for repetitive problems.
  • Report violations of ISO standards to the Cell Leader/Manager.
  • Collaborate with team from product engineering, manufacturing engineering, and production to implement process control charts for critical processes.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following procedures and regulations.
  • Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently.
  • Contribute to team by training others in inspection tasks.
  • Inspect all work prior to passing to next operation.
  • Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
