Job summary

Stryker is seeking a 2nd shift assembler in Portage, MI. You will assemble components, including sub-assemblies and electrical parts, and prepare and process components for various product lines. You will follow work instructions and test procedures to ensure quality and meet production schedules.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED and manufacturing experience. Local lifting up to 50 lbs is expected, with weekend overtime possible. A shift premium and benefits are offered.

Responsibilities

• Assemble components including sub-assemblies, manual and electrical components to contribute to product completion.
• Prepare and process electrical and mechanical components for assigned product lines.
• Follow process work instructions and test procedures to complete tasks and document quality-related information.
• Meet production build rates and schedules and maintain required cycle times.
• Interface with manufacturing systems using computers or other electronic devices.
• Operate various tools including manual/power hand tools, pneumatic tools, test equipment, presses, and cutting devices.
• Set up, prepare work, clean work area, and ensure quality of own work.
• Meet work schedules and overtime requirements, including weekends.
• Lift/carry 10-50 lbs frequently; may rarely lift 50-75 lbs.

2nd Shift: Monday- Friday, 3:00 pm - 11:30 pm, OT 2 Saturdays per month

What you will do

• Under general supervision, assembles components that may include sub-assemblies, manual components and electrical components and all other related components to contribute to completion of a variety of products
• Prepare and process electrical and mechanical components for assigned product lines
• Work from process work instructions and test procedures to complete tasks along with monitoring and recording related documentation to meet quality requirements
• Follow production build rates, schedules and meet required cycle times
• Interface with manufacturing systems using computers or other electronic devices as required
• Uses a variety of tools that may include, but are not limited to: manual and power hand tools, pneumatic tools, test equipment, presses, and measuring and cutting devices
• Responsible for set-ups, work preparation, clean up, and quality assurance of own work and work-area
• Meet work schedule and overtime requirements, including weekends
• Requires ability to lift/carry 10-50 lbs. on a frequent basis depending on product line, may rarely lift/carry 50-75 lbs.
