Job summary

Atlas Copco Group US is seeking an on-site assembler in Rock Hill, SC. You will perform mechanical/electrical assembly of compressors, generators, pumps, or medical equipment by following detailed work instructions, ensuring safety, quality, and takt-time targets.

The role requires hands-on, 0–1 year experience in assembly, with a focus on using the correct tools and maintaining 5S discipline. Training and growth opportunities are available in a state-of-the-art facility.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical field or related hands-on experience.
• 0–1 year of experience in mechanical/electrical assembly or similar setting.
• Experience with assembly/testing of air compressors, generators, pumps, or medical equipment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assemble products by following work instructions to meet safety, quality, and takt-time goals.
• Use the correct tools for each task; follow quality checkpoints before moving to the next stage.
• Maintain 5S and housekeeping; report risks and participate in Kaizen improvements.
• Collaborate with Line Lead or Supervisor when guidance is needed; promote safe work behaviors.

As an assembler, your mission is to perform assembly of products by following the process to ensureSafety, Quality, and Takt time.

Safety

• Follow all applicable safety rules and regulations of the organization.
• Report risk observations, near misses, and incidents on time.
• Use all necessary PPE required for the assigned job.
• Contribute suggestions for improving overall safety.

Quality

• Perform all tasks with a “First Time Right” mindset.
• Use work instructions to perform mechanical and/or electrical assemblies for products like compressors, generators, pumps, or medical equipment.
• Follow all quality checkpoints before sending the machine to the next stage.
• Ask for help when needed from the Line Lead or Supervisor.
• Use only the correct tools identified for the job.
• Support 5S initiatives to keep the workplace neat, clean, and safe.
• Maintain discipline on the line (breaks, rules, rework, etc.).

Delivery

• Complete tasks within the specified time.
• Support rework and repair when needed.

Cost

• Ensure First Time Right to eliminate rework or scrap.
• Respect and improve standard assembly time via Kaizen cards.
