Job summary

Atlas Copco Group is hiring an assembler to perform mechanical and electrical assemblies for compressors, generators, pumps, or medical equipment at our Rock Hill, SC facility. You will follow detailed work instructions and safety rules, ensuring First Time Right quality, and meet takt time targets on the line.

The role requires 0–1 year of hands-on assembly experience, English fluency, and basic computer skills.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical field or relevant experience.
• 0–1 year of experience (minimum).
• Fluent in English.
• Hands-on experience in mechanical/electrical assembly.
• Experience with air compressors, generators, pumps, or medical equipment is a plus.
• Knowledge of pneumatic/DC tools and alignment/assembly equipment.
• Basic computer operation skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble products following the process and work instructions.
• Maintain First Time Right quality and follow safety rules.
• Complete tasks within takt time and shop orders.
• Support 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement on the line.
• Ask for help when needed and use the correct tools for the job.

Job description

Your role As an assembler, your mission is to perform assembly of products by following the process to ensure Safety, Quality, and Takt time.

Safety

• Follow all applicable safety rules and regulations of the organization.
• Report risk observations, near misses, and incidents on time.
• Use all necessary PPE required for the assigned job.
• Contribute suggestions for improving overall safety.

Quality

• Perform all tasks with a "First Time Right" mindset.
• Use work instructions to perform mechanical and/or electrical assemblies for products like compressors, generators, pumps, or medical equipment.
• Follow all quality checkpoints before sending the machine to the next stage.
• Ask for help when needed from the Line Lead or Supervisor.
• Use only the correct tools identified for the job.
• Support 5S initiatives to keep the workplace neat, clean, and safe.
• Maintain discipline on the line (breaks, rules, rework, etc.).

Delivery

• Complete tasks within the specified time.
• Respect shop order takt time (efficiency, on-time delivery).
• Support rework and repair when needed.

Cost

• Ensure First Time Right to eliminate rework or scrap.
• Respect and improve standard assembly time via Kaizen cards.
