Job summary

Nortek in Oklahoma City, OK, is seeking an Assembler I for HVAC and UV light manufacturing on the first shift (Monday–Friday). You'll support production by moving materials, staging line-side components, and ensuring accurate inventory in our ISO 9001 environment.

Responsibilities

  • Transport materials to and from production areas, stockrooms, and shipping locations.
  • Stage materials at line-side locations to support daily production schedules.
  • Perform kitting and ensure all required components are available for production orders.
  • Operate material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions in ERP system, including material movements, receipts, and adjustments.
  • Support cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure accuracy and traceability.
  • Follow ISO 9001 procedures for material handling and documentation.
  • Collaborate with Production Leads, Supervisors, and Supply Chain to maintain efficient workflow.

Assembler I – HVAC / UV Light Manufacturing (1st Shift, M–F)SummaryThe Assembler supports production operations by ensuring timely, accurate movement, staging, and replenishment of materials in a fast-paced HVAC and UV light manufacturing environment. This role is critical to maintaining production flow, inventory accuracy, and workplace organization. The Material Handler works closely with Production Leads and Operators to execute daily material handling tasks safely, efficiently, and in alignment with quality and ISO 9001 standards.Key ResponsibilitiesTransport raw materials, components, and finished goods to and from production areas, stockrooms, and shipping locations.Stage materials at line-side locations to support daily production schedules and minimize downtime.Perform kitting and ensure all required components are available for production orders.Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.Maintain accurate inventory transactions in ERP system, including material movements, receipts, and adjustments.Support cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure accuracy and traceability.Verify materials against work orders and ensure correct parts and quantities are issued to production.Identify and report material shortages, discrepancies, or quality concerns.Maintain clean, organized, and properly labeled inventory locations in alignment with 5S standards.Follow standard work instructions and ISO 9001 procedures for material handling and documentation.Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies in material flow and organization.Collaborate with Production Leads, Supervisors, and Supply Chain to maintain efficient workflow.Adhere to all safety policies, including proper lifting techniques and safe equipment operation.Required QualificationsPrevious experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or Assembling role.Ability to operate forklifts or willingness to become certified.Basic computer skills; experience with ERP systems preferred.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling materials and inventory.Ability to follow standard procedures and work instructions.High school diploma or equivalent.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.Strong teamwork and communication skills.Preferred QualificationsExperience in HVAC, UV light, or light assembly manufacturing environments.Familiarity with kitting, line-side replenishment, and production support.Experience with cycle counting and inventory control processes.Exposure to ISO 9001 or similar quality systems.Active forklift certification.Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or 5S practices.Cultural ExpectationsCandidates must demonstrate alignment with the company’s core values:Safety — Follows all safety procedures, reports hazards, and avoids shortcuts.Trust — Maintains accountability, communicates clearly, and supports team success.Entrepreneurial Mindset — Takes ownership of assigned tasks and looks for ways to improve material flow.Bias for Action — Executes responsibilities with urgency and reliability.Work Environment & Physical RequirementsManufacturing and warehouse environment that is non-climate controlled, with exposure to heat, cold, machinery, and noise.Ability to stand and walk for the entirety of the shift.Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs regularly.Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling of materials.Ability to safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment.Monday–Friday, 1st shift; overtime as required.
