Job summary

Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. invites applications for an Assembler. Initial duties support general construction at a Harrisonburg, VA site, then transition to Lyndhurst, VA for shop and field tasks including rigging, painting, insulation, grinding, sanding, brazing, and shop duties.

After training, a formal state‑licensed apprenticeship in Welding or Industrial Electricity may be available. You should be dependable, mechanically inclined, and eager to learn in construction and shop

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Ability to read a tape measure and take basic measurements.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills are essential.
• Willingness to learn in hands‑on construction and shop environments.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality are required.
• Must be able to work Saturdays and overtime when needed.
• Must pass pre‑employment drug screening and motor vehicle checks.
• Must lift up to 50 lb regularly and up to 75 lb occasionally.
• Ability to stand, bend, crouch, kneel, and work at heights or in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Support general construction activities on active job sites.
• Safely move materials, tools, and equipment.
• Assist with job site setup, cleanup, and staging.
• Rig equipment and materials safely.
• Operate fork trucks as needed.
• Perform grinding, sanding, and brazing tasks.
• Paint system components and piping.
• Apply pipe and system insulation.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety compliance in the shop.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Progress to a state‑licensed apprenticeship program after baseline training.
