Innovative Refrigeration Systems, Inc. is seeking an Assembler to support construction operations at an active Harrisonburg, VA site and later transition to shop and field activities in Lyndhurst, VA.

The role emphasizes safety, hands-on learning, and progression toward a formal apprenticeship in welding or industrial electricity. Candidates should have a high school diploma, basic measurement skills, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to work overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Basic measurement and ability to read a tape measure.
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn in a hands-on environment.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and move materials, tools, and equipment.
• Assist crews with jobsite setup, cleanup, and material staging.
• Safely rig equipment and materials.
• Operate fork trucks as needed.
• Perform grinding, sanding, and brazing.
• Paint system components and piping.
• Apply pipe and system insulation.
• Maintain good housekeeping and safety compliance in the shop.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Transition to a state-licensed apprenticeship program after baseline training.
