Conn Selmer, Inc in Elkhart, IN is seeking a Final Assembly specialist to perform assembly operations on musical instruments, inspect parts after plating, and ensure quality standards are met.

You will follow safety procedures, keep a clean workstation, install accessory parts, and measure pistons and other components to verified tolerances. This role requires attention to detail, autonomy, and reliable attendance in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs Final Assembly operations on instruments.
• Wipes and inspects instruments following plating and prior to shipping.
• Adheres to all policies, procedures and quality standards.
• Follows safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• Maintains a clean, orderly work area.
• Installs accessory parts and adjusts for proper function.
• Grinds or hones valves and pistons to correct clearance.
• Laps piston guide keys as needed.
• Washes instruments and parts free of lapping compound.
• Inspects machining on piston parts, casings, valves and slides.
• Inspects horns for dents and defects.
• Sorts parts and may measure pistons as required.

Job Title: Final Assembly

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Performs Final Assembly operations on instruments.
2. Wiping and Inspecting instruments following Plating operations and in preparation to ship.
3. Complies with all Policies and Procedures, and with functional and cosmetic quality standards.
4. Complies with all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
5. Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
6. Installs accessory parts to finished assembled instruments, adjusts all to provide good function.
7. Grinds or hones valves and pistons to proper clearance. May be by hand or machine
8. Laps some piston guide keys.
9. Washes instruments and parts free of lapping compound.
10. Must check machining on piston parts and casings and action of valves and slides.
11. Inspects horns for dents and defects.
12. Sort parts and may be required to measure pistons.

QUALIFICATIONS:
