Job summary

Whippany Actuation Systems LLC is seeking an entry-level Assembler to build mechanical, electrical, and sub-assemblies for aerospace actuators in a high-precision environment.

You will read blueprints, solder and assemble to MIL-Specs, and perform in-process checks using measuring equipment. This is a full-time position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of assembly experience or coursework including reading blueprints, soldering, schematics, electronics, or related.
• Authorization to work in the US required.

Assembler - Electromechanical - Entry Level

Whippany Actuation Systems is a dynamic aerospace company that designs and manufactures electromechanical actuators and control electronics for commercial and military applications. Recognized as experts in our industry for over 75 years, we are a fully integrated manufacturing company which takes responsibility for the success of our business and acts quickly to implement new ideas and projects to ensure company growth.

We currently have an opportunity for a self-motivated individual with strong mechanical skills to join our team as an entry-level Assembler. In this role, you will build units and sub-assemblies to print using both power and hand tools and perform in-process checks using various test and measuring equipment.

In this role, you would typically:

• Build mechanical, electrical and sub-assemblies of units in accordance with blueprints, MIL-Specs, build books and other specifications;
• Set-up, operate and use hand, machine and special tools, electrical devices and measuring equipment;
• Track and monitor tool and equipment calibration

We require:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One year of assembly experience or coursework which includes reading blueprints, soldering and/or schematics or electronics or any combination thereof;
• Authorization to work in the US

Eligibility Requirements:

This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Whippany Actuation Systems will require proof of status before employment.

We would really like to see:

• Previous experience with electrical and mechanical assemblies of complex electro-mechanical actuators or similar product, including good wiring practices;
• Previous J STD-001 soldering experience;
• Demonstrated mechanical and electrical ability;
• An ability to use electrical and mechanical measuring instruments and hand tools;
• Experience reading blueprints, schematics and work instructions

Benefits and Compensation:
The pay rate for this position at commencement of employment is $25.34 per hour. If hired, the employee will be in an “at-will position.”
