Job summary

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and drawings.
  • Experience performing tests and inspections to evaluate quality.
  • Ability to monitor machine gauges and indicators for proper operation.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve issues.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble Ballscrew & Actuator components to customer specifications.
  • Operate and test completed products to verify function and conformance.
  • Align components for assembly using manual tools or hoists.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and specifications for assembly steps.
  • Remove rough spots and finish surfaces to fit parts using hand/power tools.
  • Rework or replace damaged parts or assemblies as needed.
  • Build and verify part tolerances.
  • Use calipers, gauges, micrometers, and dial indicators for measurements.
  • Prepare components for painting and perform light sandblasting when required.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.

Summary:

The Assembler constructs, assembles, or rebuilds mechanical assemblies and equipment. This job description indicates the general nature and level of the work that is expected. Main responsibilities:
  • Assemble Ballscrew & Actuator components to customer specifications.
  • Operates, and tests completed products to verify functioning, and conformance to customer specifications.
  • Positions and align components for assembly, manually or using hoists
  • Reads and interprets assembly blueprints and specifications manuals, and plans assembly or building operations
  • Removes rough spots, and smooths surfaces to fit, trim, or clean parts, using hand tools and power tools
  • Reworks, repairs, and replaces damaged parts or assemblies
  • Build and verify parts tolerances.
  • Use measuring instruments such as calipers, gauges, micrometers & dial indicators
  • Preps for painting, painting a variety of components, sandblast occasionally
  • Responsible for keeping a clean work area & environment
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
  • Design — Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
  • Quality Control Analysis — Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance
  • Operation Monitoring — Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly (applicable for Hydraulics)
  • Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it
  • Equipment Maintenance — Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed
  • Equipment Selection — Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
