Job summary

The Maintenance Technician at Héroux-Devtek's Springfield, Ohio facility is responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining production equipment to support manufacturing of aerospace components. You will perform preventive maintenance on CNC machines, read manuals, diagnose problems, and work with mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, with PLC experience a plus.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience; hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with PLC and HVAC.
  • High school diploma or GED with apprenticeship or equivalent production maintenance experience.
  • AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain production machines and plant facilities, including CNC equipment.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs and scheduled maintenance on production equipment.
  • Perform a variety of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Read and interpret manuals and work orders to perform maintenance services.
  • Diagnose problems, replace parts, test and adjust equipment.

Located in Springfield, the 70+ employee facility (100,000+ sq. ft.) is one of Héroux-Devtek’s centers of excellence for the manufacturing of medium to large complex landing gear and titanium components.

As part of the Central Division you will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs such as the Boeing 777 and Embraer E-2, and important military programs as F-18, F-35, C-17 and C-130.

Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.

Main responsibilities:
  • Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment, including CNC Lathes, CNC Gap Lathes, Millturns, CNC Mills (3-5 axis), CNC Bridge Mills, CNC Boring Mills.
  • Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
  • Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
  • Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
  • Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
  • Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
  • 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC. Vacuum furnace experience is preferred.
  • Must be motivated and able to work independently.
  • High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
  • An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance a plus.
