Job summary

Beaver Aerospace & Defense, Livonia, MI, seeks an Electrical Technician to join the Assembly team. You will perform electrical wiring, testing, and troubleshooting on complex aerospace components, following detailed drawings and job specs to keep production on schedule.

You will read schematics, use hand tools and multimeters, and ensure quality and compliance with AS9100 and ITAR. Experience with soldering/crimping and related certifications is a plus.

Qualifications

• Read electrical drawings and schematics to guide assembly process.
• Perform electrical assembly, wiring, and installation per specifications.
• Conduct electrical testing and troubleshooting on in-process and completed assemblies.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with AS9100 and ITAR.

• Conduct electrical testing and troubleshoot in-process and final assemblies (≈20%).
• Read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams to guide work (≈15%).
• Inspect and verify completed electrical work against requirements (≈10%).
• Perform rework and repairs as issues arise (≈10%).
• Maintain accurate production documentation and clear communication with teams (≈5%).
• Ability to read wiring diagrams and troubleshoot basic electrical issues.

Summary:

Beaver Aerospace & Defense is looking for an Electrical Technician to join our Assembly team in Livonia, Michigan. In this role, you'll perform electrical assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting on our products, working from detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and job specifications. You'll help keep electrical work moving accurately and on schedule so assemblies continue through production without delay — reading drawings, performing precise wiring and assembly work, troubleshooting problems independently, and flagging issues to Engineering or Quality before they become bigger problems.

Main responsibilities:

• Perform electrical assembly, wiring, and installation work in accordance with drawings, schematics, and job specifications (approx. 40% of time)


• Conduct electrical testing and troubleshooting on in-process and completed assemblies (approx. 20% of time)


• Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and job requirements to guide assembly work (approx. 15% of time)


• Inspect and verify completed electrical work against quality and specification requirements (approx. 10% of time)


• Perform rework, repairs, and resolve production electrical issues as they arise (approx. 10% of time)


• Maintain accurate documentation, housekeeping, and clear communication with Assembly, Engineering, and Quality to support production flow (approx. 5% of time)


• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams


• Hands-on electrical wiring and assembly experience


• Proficiency using electrical hand tools and test equipment, including a multimeter


• Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform precise work to documented requirements and tolerances


• Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical and wiring problems independently


• Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment where priorities can shift based on business needs


• Basic computer skills and the ability to learn company production documentation systems


• Willingness to complete required annual training, including AS9100 quality system requirements and ITAR/Export Compliance


• Aerospace and defense manufacturing experience is a plus


• Electro-mechanical assembly experience is a plus


• Soldering and/or crimping experience, along with related certifications (e.g., IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC J-STD-001), is a plus


• Experience working within AS9100 or another regulated quality environment is a plus


• Previous electrical testing and troubleshooting experience is a plus
