Job summary

HDI Landing Gear, based in Strongsville, OH, is seeking an assembler to join our aerospace manufacturing team. You will assemble and disassemble nose and main landing gear components for the Boeing 777 program and other military programs, reading drawings and ensuring proper fit and alignment.

You will perform acceptance tests on hydraulic components, maintain traceability, and adhere to AS9100/NADCAP quality standards in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • AME/AP license and/or aerospace experience preferred.
  • At least 2 years’ experience assembling aerospace components.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly and disassembly of nose and main landing gear components for Boeing 777 and military programs.
  • Read drawings/models and complete final assembly per process plans.
  • Conduct ATP on hydraulic components and verify proper fits and alignments.

Information on the division:

Located in Strongsville, the 90+ employee facility (100,000 sq. ft.) is one of Héroux-Devtek’s centers of excellence for the final assembly of landing gear.

As part of the Central Division, you will lead P&L responsible for critical machining operations of major commercial aircraft programs such as the Boeing 777 and Embraer E-2, and important military programs such as F-18, F-35, C-17 and C-130.

Summary:

The Assembler is responsible for utilizing drawings, models, and work instructions to complete the assembly and disassembly of nose and main landing gear components for the Boeing 777 program and other military programs.

Main responsibilities:

  • Perform acceptance test procedures (ATP) on various hydraulic components (shock struts and actuators)
  • Rubber stamp (serialization) to be performed when specified on parts prior to final shipping.
  • Assembling and disassembling nose and main landing gear components for the Boeing 777 program and other military programs
  • Read drawings and models to complete the final assembly for shock struts, actuators and drag struts according to the process plans.
  • Identifying proper and improper fits, alignments, and condition of components
  • Seal bushings and pain sealant on all parts prior to honing
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and create a process change request.
  • Document & maintain traceability in accordance with all quality standards, such as AS9100 and NADCAP.
  • Adheres to all company policies and procedures, including Health & Safety Requirements
