Job summary

Boeing is seeking contract workers for production assembly roles in North Charleston, SC. This position will involve routine assembly operations on aircraft systems, along with testing and troubleshooting electrical components. Candidates should have at least 1 year of relevant experience in aerospace or manufacturing.

Selected individuals will be required to meet physical demands and work variable shifts. The hourly pay ranges from $20 to $25, with optional benefits including medical and 401(k).

Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing.
  • 1+ year of experience in electrical assembly and/or electronic materials.
  • 1+ year of experience in avionics systems troubleshooting and installations.
  • 1+ year of experience using Microsoft Suite and internet applications.
  • 1+ year of experience reading and interpreting blueprints in English.

Job description

This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project. Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Responsibilities

Performs routine production assembly operations on structural and mechanical assemblies, subassemblies and aircraft systems, equipment and accessories using manual operations.

Technical Skills
  • Ability to work a variable shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd).
  • Performs functional testing of aircraft electrical systems and components, and troubleshooting and fault repair of aircraft systems.
  • Assesses and documents test or analysis data to show compliance.
  • Identifies roadblocks and production constraints, escalating issues that cannot be resolved by the team using open and clear communication.
  • Supports teammates to improve overall team performance by providing cross‑training and mentoring.
  • Adheres to high standards of safety and compliance to regulation.
Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing.
  • 1+ year of experience in electrical assembly and/or electronic materials.
  • 1+ year of experience in avionics systems troubleshooting, wire bundle installations, and aircraft electrical systems troubleshooting.
  • 1+ year of experience using software applications for internet navigation, email, Microsoft Suite, or other specialized computer applications.
  • 1+ year of experience utilizing and following detailed work instructions, reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, or specifications, in English.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role such as flexion/extension, handling, kneeling, bending at the waist, reaching overhead, rotation of head/neck, standing, twisting at the waist, walking, climbing/balancing (stairs, ladders, poles, scaffolding, inclined surfaces), crawling, and crouching (squatting).
Work Schedule

Variable shifts: 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift. Shift depends on business need.

Training

8–10 weeks of training.

Pay and Benefits

Hourly pay: $20–$25 USD.

Optional benefits: medical, dental, vision, 401(k).
