Nidec Drives in Lexington, Tennessee is seeking a first shift assembler to join a manufacturing team. You will assemble heavy subassemblies, read drawings and wiring diagrams, and follow established processes to meet quality standards.
This role requires a High School Diploma or GED and on-the-job training to master assemblies and wiring variations. You will lift heavy materials, work under supervision, and help maintain a safe, orderly work area with adherence to safety practices.

Assembles fabricated parts to relatively large or heavy subassemblies and complete units. Tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. May require 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Duties & Responsibilities Information: Makes general decisions as to quality of products and adjusts as necessary. Lifts heavy materials and frequently works with medium weights. Requires continuous mental and visual attention where the work repetitive and requires constant alertness to detail. Compliance with safety precautions necessary to prevent lost time injury to others. Assembles revolving field cores, following assembly drawings and wiring diagrams. Operates shaft press to specification. Requires an enhanced degree of skills in proper mechanical and electrical assembly methods. Exercises good housekeeping in work area. Observes good safety practices in performance of job.
Requires ability to perform ordinary shop math, read and interpret witing diagrams, detailed drawing, and process work orders. Normal on the job training of one (1) year to have complete knowledge of all assemblies and wiring variables. Must have the ability to perform a sequence of operations where standard operational methods are available.
