Job summary

Crane Aerospace & Electronics, Inc. in Burbank is seeking an Assembler - Valves for the 2nd shift (2:00pm - 10:30pm). Under close supervision, you will perform assembly processes to manufacture Crane products in accordance with military and FDA standards using visual, verbal and written instructions.

Second shift openings include a 10% shift differential. Responsibilities include preparing components, cleaning, inspecting, and testing assemblies, operating equipment such as Die Attach Machine,

Qualifications

  • 1–5+ years of small component assembly in manufacturing.
  • Strong verbal and written communication; reading comprehension of work documents.
  • Ability to interpret production or engineering prints and wiring diagrams.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly tasks for subassemblies or completed assemblies.
  • Prepare components, clean, inspect, and test assemblies.
  • Operate equipment such as Die Attach Machine, Wire Bonder, and X-Ray machines.
  • Observe health and safety procedures and participate in 5S/continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Summary

The Assembler - Valves 2nd Shift TEMP (2:00pm - 10:30pm) works under close supervision performing assigned assembly processes to manufacture Crane Aerospace & Electronics products in accordance with military standards, Food and Drug Administration standards, and/or other assembly standards using visual aids, verbal and/or written instructions. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A 2ND SHIFT POSITION FROM 2:00pm - 10:30pm. Second shift openings are eligible for a 10% shift differential

Essential Functions
  • Perform assigned assembly tasks subassemblies, or completed assemblies Prepare components prior to assembly, clean components, mark, and inspect components, Test finished assemblies Operate assigned equipment and machinery (i.e.-Die Attach Machine, Wire Bonder, X-Ray machines Observe proper health and safety procedures in handling hazardous chemicals Identify and report to lead or supervisor any difficulty which would affect the correctness and quality of the work in process Participate in cleaning of area and machinery and take part in team meetings for improvement Practice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy; Cross-train to work on at least one process within the cell Complete job-related company training courses Support Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, Standard Work, and other initiatives as they arise Flexible and willing to work overtime if necessary Any other task assigned by supervisor or management Operation of a Microscope (Can be up to 8 hours a day)
Non-Essential Functions
  • Understand and/or participate with internal/external audits May be required to repair/rework defective or returned assemblies
Minimum Qualifications
  • Experience: 1-5+ years of Small Component Assembly experience in a manufacturing environment Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods knowledge
  • Skills: Strong verbal and written communication; Proficiency in reading comprehension (understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents) of the English language; Basic computer skills (understanding of basic software)
  • Abilities: Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception and other vision capabilities required; Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity; Adept hand eye coordination and arm-hand steadiness Ability to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagrams Ability to work well in a moderate to high paced work environment in a high-volume setting
  • Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • IPC Soldering Certification
Eligibility Requirement

This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Working Conditions

Working conditions could include a Class 7 or 8 Cleanroom, or general manufacturing environment Up to 8 hours of Microscope work daily Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes Standing: 25% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task Sitting: 75% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task Lifting (in pounds): up to 40 pounds Pushing (in pounds): up to 40 pounds Mental/Visual: use of soldering equipment, microscopes/magnifying glasses Workspace: assembly cell

Salary
  • Assembler I: $20.76/hr. - 25.77/hr.
  • Assembler II: $23.83/hr. - $30.56/hr.
  • Assembler III: $27.48/hr. - $35.78/hr.

Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles maybe eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs. Second shift openings are eligible for a 10% shift differential. The 10% shift differential will be added to the base pay once training on First shift has been successfully completed and the employee transitions to the Second shift schedule.
