Job summary

Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking an Assembler - Valves (5:30am - 2:00pm) to perform assembly and subassembly tasks in a controlled environment. You will prepare, inspect, and test components using microscopes and specialized equipment, while adhering to military and ITAR standards and safety policies.

The role requires 1–5+ years in small component assembly, the ability to read engineering prints, and strong manual dexterity.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–5+ years of small component assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret production or engineering prints and wiring diagrams.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and reading English instructions.
• Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception.

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly tasks, subassemblies, or completed assemblies.
• Prepare components, clean, mark, and inspect before/during assembly.
• Test finished assemblies and operate related equipment.
• Observe OSHA safety procedures and Crane policy; report issues.
• Participate in 5S, standard work, and CBS initiatives; overtime as needed.

Job Summary:The Assembler - Valves (5:30am - 2:00pm) works under close supervision performing assigned assembly processes to manufacture Crane Aerospace & Electronics products in accordance with military standards, and/or other assembly standards using visual aids, verbal and/or written instructions.Essential Functions:Perform assigned assembly tasks subassemblies, or completed assembliesPrepare components prior to assembly, clean components, mark, and inspect components,Test finished assembliesOperate assigned equipment and machinery (i.e.-Die Attach Machine, Wire Bonder, X-Ray machinesObserve proper health and safety procedures in handling hazardous chemicalsIdentify and report to lead or supervisor any difficulty which would affect the correctness and quality of the work in processParticipate in cleaning of area and machinery and take part in team meetings for improvementPractice safe work habits as established by OSHA and Crane policy;Cross-train to work on at least one process within the cellComplete job-related company training coursesSupport Crane Business System (CBS) initiatives including 5S, Standard Work, and other initiatives as they ariseFlexible and willing to work overtime if necessaryAny other task assigned by supervisor or managementOperation of a Microscope (Can be up to 8 hours a day)Non-Essential Functions:Understand and/or participate with internal/external auditsMay be required to repair/rework defective or returned assembliesMinimum Qualifications:Experience: 1-5+ years of Small Component Assembly experience in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods knowledgeSkills: Strong verbal and written communication; Proficiency in reading comprehension (understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents) of the English language; Basic computer skills (understanding of basic software)Abilities: Accurate color vision, near vision, and depth perception and other vision capabilities required; Manipulative skills, including finger and manual dexterity; Adept hand eye coordination and arm-hand steadinessAbility to thoroughly interpret production or engineering prints, production planning information and assembly aids such as illustrations and wiring diagramsAbility to work well in a moderate to high paced work environment in a high-volume settingEducation/Certification: High School diploma or equivalentPreferred Qualifications:IPC Soldering CertificationEligibility Requirement:This position requires access to controlled data or information and therefore only US persons will be considered.
