Job summary

ERA Industries LLC is seeking an assembler to join our Elk Grove Village, IL team. You will assemble hardware and components, document work in production logs and ERP systems to ensure traceability, and maintain a clean, organized work area.

You will report any safety or quality concerns to your supervisor and support continuous improvement of processes. The role requires familiarity with blueprints, FOD procedures, NAS/NASM standards, and 2 years of hands-on tool experience.

Qualifications

• Blueprints reading and interpreting drawings.
• FOD awareness and impact on product quality.
• Knowledge of NAS/NASM standards for hardware assembly.
• At least 2 years with basic hand tools (Allen wrenches, torque wrenches, etc.).
• Ability to assemble bushings and components per drawings using press tools or temperature methods.
• Assemble machined components to meet form and fit per in-process requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assemble hardware and components safely, productively and with quality.
• Document work on in-process inspection plans, production logs, router and ERP as applicable.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Raise concerns about production, safety and quality to supervisor.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and understand QMS impact.
• Operate within calibrated inspection equipment and report any out-of-calibration items.

Description

Duties & expectations:

• Assemble hardware and components in a safe, productive and quality manner
• Document work on in-process inspection plans, production log, router and ERP system as applicable to maintain traceability and quality records.
• Keep clean and organized work area.
• Communicate any concerns or issues related to production of parts, safety and quality to immediate supervisor.
• Look to continuous improvement of processes and understand the contribution to the effectiveness of the QMS.
• Willing to work in a team environment.
• Only use calibrated measuring equipment whether your own or company supplied, if not in proper calibration notify quality department to have corrected immediately.
• Be sure any epoxy’s, adhesives, prime and paint etc are documented and within shelf life criteria.
• Handle inspection equipment, machines and parts in a manner that will not cause damage.
• Insure that our FOD program is being used.
• In the event of lack of work or another department needing assistance may be asked to do any of the following but not limited to these. Operator, Inventory control, Cleaning, Shipping and Receiving, Deburring.
• Maintain a positive attitude and punctuality.
• Aware of quality policies, procedures, objectives, contribution to conformance of product, safety and ethics.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Trained in blue print reading.
• Trained on FOD and its effect on product.
• Competent in standard military NAS and NASM, MA as well as customer specifications for hardware assembly.
• 2 year experience using basic hand tools such as Allen wrenches, torque wrenches, screw drivers, helicoils installation tools or be willing to be trained as required.
• Competent in bushing assembly via press fit or use of temperature to assemble and use press or Bridgeport as needed to perform such assemblies.
• Assemble multiple machined components in a manner that conforms with drawing or in process requirements for form and fit.
